Inventory Contractor (Robotics)

Location: Redwood City, California; 100% on-site

Salary: $30 per hour; hourly contract, 25–40 hours per week, for an initial 4–6 week setup phase with possible extension.

What you will do

• Build and structure the hardware inventory system in Sortly.
• Create item categories, tagging systems, and logical folder structures.
• Generate and implement barcode and QR labeling workflows.
• Organize physical bins, shelves, parts, boxes, and equipment to match the digital inventory structure.
• Conduct the initial inventory count and reconciliation.
• Implement check-in/check-out workflows and document ongoing inventory processes.

Requirements

• Direct experience using Sortly is required.
• Experience building an inventory system from scratch.
• Familiarity with barcode and QR code generation and labeling.
• Ability to physically organize hardware components, parts, and equipment.
• Comfort working hands-on in a warehouse or workshop environment.
• Ability to propose structures and improve workflows independently.

Nice to have

• Warehouse experience.
• Experience implementing inventory best practices.
• Familiarity with cycle counts and parts forecasting.
