Data Collection Lab Manager (Shift Leader) (AI/Robotics)

What you will do

• Own and improve day-to-day DataLab operations and ensure reliable, high-quality data delivery.
• Lead task rollout and retirement scheduling based on organizational priorities.
• Establish QA processes, investigate data issues, and improve operational quality.
• Identify bottlenecks and build scalable systems, trackers, reporting cadences, and documentation.
• Oversee devices, hardware, inventory, data custody, tracking, and reporting.
• Recruit, onboard, coach, and manage data collection staff and lab leads.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in high-performance operational environments with significant ownership and accountability.
• Experience managing teams in fast-moving or semi-structured organizations.
• Strong operational judgment, attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and people leadership skills.
• Experience building processes and improving systems in ambiguous environments.
• Ability to use metrics, operational reporting, and process tracking to drive decisions.
• Comfort working in an on-site laboratory environment in Boston (Somerville).

Nice to have

• Experience managing physical operations, labs, logistics, or production environments.
• Experience with QA or operational quality systems.
• Startup experience.
• Familiarity with AI/ML data operations or human-in-the-loop workflows.
