Senior Specialist – NVH Simulations (Automotive)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office. Approximately 10% travel to test facilities, suppliers, and vehicle evaluations. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Develop end-to-end NVH simulations for components, subsystems, and complete vehicles, covering structure-borne and airborne noise.
• Build and execute high-fidelity CAE models for vibration behavior, noise propagation, and acoustic performance.
• Perform modal, frequency response, and transfer path analyses to identify dominant noise and vibration sources.
• Define and cascade NVH targets, lead root-cause analysis, and develop simulation-driven countermeasures.
• Correlate CAE predictions with physical test data and improve model accuracy.
• Collaborate with design, body, and supplier teams on NVH solutions, design reviews, milestones, optimization, workflow automation, and digital twin integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of automotive NVH CAE experience, preferably in an OEM or Tier-1 environment.
• Strong foundations in vibration, acoustics, and structural dynamics.
• Experience with Nastran, Abaqus, OptiStruct, Actran, VA One, or equivalent NVH tools.
• Experience with modal analysis, frequency response analysis, transfer path analysis, CAE-test correlation, and root-cause analysis.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required. A valid driver’s license is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience with electrified powertrain NVH.
• Familiarity with SEA or hybrid FE-SEA methods.
• Python or MATLAB experience for automation.
• Exposure to optimization, DOE, or robustness studies.
• Experience supporting OEM development milestones and sign-off.
