TL;DR
NVH/CAE Engineer (Automotive): Building and analyzing full-vehicle, subsystem, and component NVH models for smart electric vehicles with an accent on trimmed-body and suspension FEA, vibration analysis, and transfer path analysis. Focus on identifying root causes, developing structural design solutions, verifying simulation models through testing, and optimizing components for performance, cost, weight, packaging, and durability.

Location: Santa Clara, CA, United States; onsite at the Santa Clara facility

What you will do

  • Perform NVH CAE analysis for complete vehicles, subsystems, and components.
  • Build trimmed-body and suspension FEA models and conduct normal modes, frequency response, and transient analyses.
  • Identify NVH root causes through transfer path analysis and develop design solutions for issue resolution.
  • Benchmark competitive powertrains and drivelines, define functional targets, and support component specifications and DFMEA documentation.
  • Lead NVH component supply chain definition, design validation, engineering meetings, and vehicle development milestones.
  • Develop and execute tests to verify analytical models, support NVH laboratory and field testing, and align simulation results with CAD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 3–7 years of experience in NVH and CAE for HEV, PHEV, or EV vehicles.
  • Strong knowledge of vibration theory and finite element methods, including NASTRAN, HyperMesh, ANSA, and Excel.
  • Experience using CAE tools to identify and resolve automotive NVH issues.
  • Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of automotive components and vehicle systems.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in vehicle development, learn on the job, and educate new engineers.

Nice to have

  • Experience with LMS Test.Lab and Head Acoustics Artemis.
  • Automotive NVH experience and proficiency with vehicle components and systems.
