Senior Analytics Engineer: Finance (Fintech)

Location: hirify.global UK; hybrid working with office attendance on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and remote working on Tuesday and Friday

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain robust finance data models and transformation pipelines using dbt or equivalent tooling.
• Translate financial logic into documented SQL models that support reporting and business decisions.
• Implement data quality checks, reconciliation logic, and monitoring across critical finance pipelines.
• Define and govern core finance KPIs, metric definitions, logic, and ownership.
• Collaborate with Finance, Analytics Engineering, and Product teams to embed data requirements into infrastructure.
• Automate manual finance data processes and improve reliability and scalability.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, window functions, performance tuning, indexing, and warehouse-specific behavior.
• Hands-on experience with data modelling and dbt or a comparable transformation framework.
• Experience building production data quality checks, reconciliation logic, and monitoring.
• 3–5+ years of experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, or finance data roles, ideally in financial services or fintech.
• Ability to work directly with finance stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Strong ownership, communication, and understanding of financial data correctness.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of financial reporting concepts, dimensional modelling, and finance data logic.
• Experience with Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools.
• Python or another scripting language for data manipulation and automation.
• Background in consumer lending, payments, or embedded finance products.
• Experience in an Analytics Engineering or hybrid analyst/engineer role.
