Senior Electrical Engineer (IoT Hardware)

Location: Boston, MA, United States; hybrid schedule with two core office days per week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Travel to manufacturing partners in China 1–3 times per year is required.

Salary: $106,100–$141,500 annual base pay.

What you will do

• Own electrical subsystems and contribute to the full lifecycle design of security-focused consumer products.
• Develop product architecture and translate system requirements into detailed technical deliverables.
• Lead prototype development, design validation, test strategy definition, and issue resolution.
• Analyze tradeoffs involving performance, cost, schedule, risk, complexity, and scalability.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, industrial design, sourcing, product management, suppliers, and global manufacturing partners.
• Lead design reviews and optimize products for mass production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 2 years working on consumer products.
• Experience designing complex systems from concept through mass production and owning subsystems or components.
• Experience with very-low-power battery-operated designs and embedded interfaces including UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, SDIO, and MIPI.
• Experience with RF technologies including Sub-GHz, Wi-Fi, and BLE.
• Experience defining design validation plans across electrical, RF, connectivity, audio, and imaging subsystems.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
