Electrical Engineer - Consumer Electronics

What you will do

• Own connected devices from ambiguous product needs through prototyping, field deployment, validation, and production transition.
• Translate user and business requirements into integrated electrical and firmware architectures.
• Design compute-based, mixed-signal boards with processors, power systems, sensors, wireless connectivity, displays, and peripherals.
• Develop embedded firmware using bare metal, FreeRTOS, embedded Linux, or Android according to product needs.
• Lead board bring-up, validation, troubleshooting, certification, and production handoff using laboratory tools.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, product, and operations partners across merchant hardware, automation, and robotics programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on product-development experience across electrical hardware and embedded firmware.
• Experience taking customer-facing or field-deployed hardware from concept through scaled production.
• Direct experience designing a board and writing its production firmware for the same product.
• Strong skills in compute-based board design, embedded C/C++, board bring-up, hardware debugging, power, wireless, sensors, and interfaces.
• Ability to independently develop system architecture from incomplete requirements and make technical tradeoffs.

Nice to have

• Experience with tablets, POS systems, connected consumer or enterprise devices, electromechanical systems, or robotics.
• Knowledge of FCC, CE, and other regulatory compliance and certification processes.
• Experience shipping hardware at scale and working with in-house or contract manufacturers.
• Personal hardware projects and a strong focus on ownership and craftsmanship.
