What you will do
- Lead the financial close timetable and coordinate dependencies across Finance and the wider business.
- Prepare and review journals, including accruals, prepayments, intercompany entries, and other complex postings.
- Own balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are supported and cleared promptly.
- Support statutory financial statements, consolidated group accounts, audits, regulatory returns, and tax reporting.
- Maintain accounting policies, technical documentation, financial controls, and process documentation.
- Lead process improvements and the effective use of automation and AI tools while maintaining appropriate review and governance.
Requirements
- ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in financial accounting or financial control, including balance sheet ownership, reconciliations, journals, and statutory reporting.
- Financial services experience in practice or industry.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets and controlled analysis.
- Solid understanding of IFRS, strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ownership of deadlines.
- Ability to use automation and AI tools in role-specific work while maintaining governance and compliance.
Nice to have
- Experience using NetSuite.
- Exposure to regulatory reporting.
- Experience reviewing others’ work, providing guidance, or coaching.
