Senior Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Perform daily financial settlements with third-party service providers and payment network operators.
• Manage cash, multi-currency wallet balances, payment gateways, corporate disbursements, and banking portals.
• Own end-to-end user reconciliation for the assigned market, including trust accounts, wallet balances, transaction ledgers, and bank clearing systems.
• Investigate, resolve, and document system anomalies, settlement breaks, tracking gaps, and failed payment transactions.
• Prepare statutory financial statements, regulatory reports, and financial resource reports, and support external audits.
• Guide junior accountants, delegate reconciliation work, and collaborate with product and engineering teams to automate billing and financial data workflows.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of accounting experience in fintech, digital banking, e-commerce, or another high-volume transactional environment.
• Experience with multi-currency accounts, foreign exchange revaluations, and cross-border transactions.
• Strong practical knowledge of IFRS and complex double-entry accounting logic for new products and platform features.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, complex formulas, and data modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Ability to supervise junior accountants and manage complex reconciliation workflows.

• Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and analysis.
