TL;DR
Offshore Lead, Marine Operations (Ocean Energy): Leading offshore deployment, towing, recovery, mooring, maintenance, and test operations for ocean energy nodes with an accent on safety, vessel coordination, and frontline team leadership. Focus on commissioning new offshore equipment, executing complex operations in harsh marine environments, and building reliable 24/7 operational capabilities.

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States; rotational offshore schedule with long shifts supporting 24/7 operations. When off hitch, the role is ideally on-site, while exceptional remote candidates may be considered with regular travel to the Portland offices.

Salary: $180,000–$230,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

  • Lead offshore operations including load-outs, wet towage, deployments, recoveries, moorings, and test campaigns.
  • Manage a small team of offshore technicians and build the offshore team structure.
  • Coordinate vessel operators, ports, equipment operators, divers, and other critical vendors.
  • Work with engineering to commission, test, improve, and develop equipment and methods for offshore operations.
  • Oversee maintenance of owned equipment and interface with regulators such as USCG and ABS.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Master in offshore towing operations.
  • Experience with ocean towing and towing vessels.
  • Ability to travel offshore up to 50% of the time.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and promoting a safety-first culture.
  • Availability for rotational offshore work, including 12-hour days, seven days per week while on hitch.
  • Flexibility to accommodate weather, vessel availability, and mission timelines.

Nice to have

  • Experience directing complex offshore operations, including first-time operations.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering groups.
  • Relevant maritime education and certifications.
