TL;DR
Government Affairs & Strategic Partnership Lead (Transportation Infrastructure): Securing bus stops and station access while building partnerships with government agencies, transportation authorities, businesses, and property owners with an accent on market expansion, regulatory compliance, and infrastructure development. Focus on negotiating agreements, leading site acquisition across jurisdictions, mitigating policy risks, and representing the company in public consultations and infrastructure planning forums.

Location: Hybrid; up to 30% business travel required. Work from another location may be available for up to 60 days per year depending on the role.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 USD per year

What you will do

  • Secure high-impact locations for bus stops and stations through government relationships and private-sector negotiations.
  • Build strategic relationships with government agencies, municipal councils, regulatory bodies, transportation authorities, businesses, transit agencies, and property owners.
  • Lead regional strategy by aligning commercial objectives with government policies, identifying opportunities, and mitigating regulatory risks.
  • Represent Flix in discussions with transportation authorities, media, hearings, public consultations, and infrastructure planning forums.
  • Lead site acquisition while ensuring compliance with zoning, permitting, and safety standards across jurisdictions.
  • Serve as the primary contact for station-related and government affairs matters and manage up to two direct reports as organizational needs evolve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or real estate development, including work with government entities.
  • Demonstrated success owning business strategy and securing agreements with government agencies or private stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of project management experience and strong knowledge of transportation regulations and public transit systems.
  • At least 1 year of people management experience or experience leading cross-functional teams with indirect reporting lines.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, policy analysis, writing, communication, presentation, real estate transaction, land-use planning, and infrastructure development skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with RFPs and grant writing.
