TL;DR
Primary Care Medical Assistant (Phlebotomy/EMR): Providing clinical, clerical, and technical support in an onsite primary care clinic for women 65+ with an accent on patient rooming, venipuncture, EMR documentation, medication support, and chronic disease management. Focus on coordinating examinations and follow-up care, administering ordered medications, maintaining patient records, and delivering confidential, patient-centered service.

Location: Highland Park Clinic, 2004 Ford Pkwy, Saint Paul, MN, United States. Onsite schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., four days per week, Monday through Friday.

Salary: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Room patients, record vital signs, prepare examination rooms and equipment, and assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
  • Collect blood samples through venipuncture and administer intramuscular injections and medications as ordered.
  • Enter and maintain patient information in the EMR, including medications, preventive care flags, screenings, immunizations, refills, forms, consents, and billing requests.
  • Schedule appointments, support patient portal setup, handle calls, check in patients, and coordinate follow-up communications.
  • Support chronic disease management and population health through reports, medication adherence reviews, patient outreach, and follow-up reminders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, clean examination rooms, and manage medical supplies and equipment inventory.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant certification program.
  • Training in phlebotomy and demonstrated venipuncture skills.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification or diploma.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, customer service orientation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proof of US citizenship or eligibility to work in the United States with a permanent resident card is required.
