Senior Electrical Engineer (RF/IR Spectroscopy)

Location: Onsite in Methuen or Wilmington, Massachusetts; candidates must live within commuting distance. The role includes approximately 5% annual travel. Relocation benefits are not available.

Salary: $101,675–$169,475 per year, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Support remote plasma source, ozone, IR spectroscopy, and microwave product lines within the Plasma Solutions business unit.
• Perform system- and board-level testing to validate design goals and product specifications.
• Develop, document, and execute design verification test plans.
• Review and implement electronics designs, concepts, and engineering solutions with cross-functional technical teams.
• Analyze results and recommend engineering tradeoffs to optimize performance, reliability, and product cost.
• Troubleshoot products in volume manufacturing, perform failure analysis, and create or review engineering change orders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering or product engineering.
• Ability to independently use oscilloscopes, high-voltage probes, power meters, and similar tools to test and debug circuits.
• Experience creating and executing design verification test plans.
• Experience with system- and board-level failure analysis, resonant tank circuits, RF inverters, or DC/DC converters.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with thermal detectors, MCT sensors, thermoelectric coolers, IR filters, interferometers, optics, and mirrors used in NDIR and FTIR spectroscopy.
• Understanding of vacuum system infrastructure, including MFCs, pressure controllers, and vacuum pumps.
• Experience designing and testing complex hardware and embedded software systems from requirements definition through implementation.
• Experience participating in cross-functional engineering projects.
