Текст:
TL;DR
Senior / Principal Propulsion Engineer (Aerospace): Developing, testing, and operating Archimedes rocket engine hardware for the Neutron launch vehicle with an accent on propulsion subsystem ownership, qualification testing, and operational readiness. Focus on analyzing hotfire data, improving engine reliability and manufacturability, and coordinating complex work across engineering, manufacturing, testing, and vehicle operations teams.
Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States
Company
is an end-to-end space company developing rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems, including the Neutron launch vehicle and its Archimedes engines.
What you will do
- Design, analyze, test, fly, and refly next-generation propulsion hardware for the Neutron rocket.
- Own propulsion subsystems and engine operations, driving design, analysis, testing, and operational readiness.
- Develop and execute qualification and acceptance test plans, then review post-test and hotfire data to refine designs and processes.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, testing, and vehicle operations teams to improve engine performance, reliability, manufacturability, and lifecycle support.
- Plan and prioritize work across teams, resolve competing priorities, and align technical execution with program goals.
- Mentor engineers and, at the Principal level, influence cross-functional efforts beyond the immediate group.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience for Senior Propulsion Engineer I, 8+ years for Senior Propulsion Engineer II, or 12+ years for Principal Propulsion Engineer in rocket engine development, testing, or operations.
- Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, cryogenic systems, and rocket engine architecture.
- Familiarity with engine P&IDs, fluid system routing, and hotfire data reviews.
- For work in U.S. offices, candidates must satisfy applicable ITAR requirements, such as being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorization.
- Ability to work with prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and computer use, with occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in a fluid-mechanics-heavy field.
- Experience with oxygen-rich staged combustion systems and Methyl/LOX propellants.
- Background in failure analysis, combustion dynamics, turbopump mechanics, or hydraulics.
- Experience with reusable rocket engines, test and launch facility operations, and design, qualification, and production best practices.
Culture & Benefits
- Work on real spaceflight hardware and meaningful missions expanding access to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
- Fast-paced environment focused on innovation, teamwork, technical ownership, and delivery under tight deadlines.
- Collaborative culture emphasizing mentorship, cross-functional support, and practical problem-solving.
- Equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodation support are provided for eligible U.S. applicants.
