GSE Engineering Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Full-time, on-site in Centennial, Colorado or Long Beach, California through December 2026; the fall internship runs from September to December 2026.

Salary: $28–$32 per hour

What you will do

• Design and develop ground support equipment such as racks, enclosures, test fixtures, data acquisition systems, lift fixtures, transport containers, and interface adapters.
• Support the development of schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical interface documentation, and PCB layouts.
• Fabricate, integrate, bring up, calibrate, repair, and maintain ground support and test equipment.
• Assist with DAQ hardware and software integration for spacecraft testing.
• Work with Ethernet, Serial, and CAN protocols, including wire harness routing, signal integrity, grounding, and shielding.
• Document engineering processes and test procedures, provide on-site testing support, and troubleshoot systems with experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Electrical, Controls, Computer, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable discipline at a four-year accredited university.
• Coursework or project experience in circuit design, test systems, or electronics.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week on-site in Centennial, CO or Long Beach, CA through December 2026.
• Must provide own transportation.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Completed junior or senior year of university.
• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks, Altium, Python, C++, or LabVIEW.
• Understanding of Ethernet, Serial, or CAN communication protocols.
• Interest in advancing space security and sustainability, with a resilient problem-solving approach.
