Senior Staff Accountant

Location: Rochester, New York, United States

Salary: $28.30–$42.46 per hour, with potential annual incentive and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, external reports, and audit schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate unusual transactions or discrepancies.
• Apply ASC 606 and company policies to customer contracts and purchase orders, preparing revenue journal entries and maintaining revenue schedules.
• Support billing and ensure revenue is recognized in the appropriate period for manufacturing contracts and projects.
• Develop accounting policies and procedures, use AI to improve efficiency, and support special projects, internal controls, and audits.

Requirements

• 4+ years of overall accounting experience.
• Four-year undergraduate degree, preferably in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
• Strong technical accounting skills with an emphasis on revenue recognition.
• Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, financial reporting, reconciliations, and close processes.
• Ability to collaborate with Operations, Sales, Procurement, and leadership.
• QuickBooks or ERP experience is preferred but not required.
