Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer (Embedded Systems)

Salary: $143,666.72–$215,500.08 per year, plus potential annual incentive and/or long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Develop embedded software for medical devices, robotics solutions, industrial automation products, consumer electronics, and other products.
• Architect scalable firmware solutions and solve complex engineering problems across diverse hardware platforms.
• Build and debug electromechanical systems involving actuators, motors, sensors, and microcontrollers.
• Work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers, scientists, optical engineers, manufacturing partners, and industrial designers.
• Interact directly with customers to understand needs, discuss capabilities, demonstrate solutions, and support hardware demonstrations.
• Learn across disciplines and take on additional technical responsibilities over time.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related engineering discipline.
• 8–12+ years of experience as a firmware engineer across multiple hardware platforms, programming languages, and microcontrollers.
• Experience working in a consulting capacity with internal and external clients.
• Strong experience with electromechanical systems, hardware–firmware interaction, and debugging using logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Experience developing embedded software in C/C++, using microcontroller peripherals such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, GPIO, ADC, and PWM.
• Working knowledge of RTOS, embedded Linux and drivers, bare-metal firmware, development tools, source control, and issue management.

Nice to have

• Experience with control algorithms and control theory.
• Knowledge of FCC emission requirements, UL safety standards, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304.
