Lead NX Design Engineer (Siemens NX)

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States. Relocation assistance is available to facilitate a move to Portland if needed.

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical authority for engineering documentation and release across the hardware lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain expert-level Siemens NX models and releases for structures and mechanical systems.
• Lead the creation of complex assembly drawings for the ocean-energy Node.
• Define large-scale, safety-critical welded steel structures with precise technical documentation.
• Own the engineering release process and integrate PLM data with NX infrastructure.
• Establish a scalable approach for augmenting design capacity while balancing cost, speed, and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience, with a strong emphasis on Siemens NX.
• Expert knowledge of GD&T and engineering standards including ASME Y14.5.
• Experience documenting large-scale mechanical assemblies and welded steel structures.
• Experience with Siemens Teamcenter and PLM workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a creative, collaborative environment.
