Senior Accounting Manager

Location: Montreal, Canada; hybrid work arrangement

What you will do

• Lead acquisition integrations and purchase accounting in accordance with ASC 805 in partnership with finance and legal.
• Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles, ensuring accurate and timely accounting entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements and investor reporting where applicable.
• Maintain and improve the general ledger system and financial record-keeping infrastructure.
• Manage and develop three direct reports by setting expectations, removing roadblocks, and supporting professional growth.
• Partner with external auditors as the primary internal contact and resolve accounting issues to maintain GAAP compliance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.
• 4+ years of experience managing direct reports in an accounting or finance function.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience with acquisition integrations, purchase accounting, or financial consolidations under ASC 805.
• Proficiency with an ERP system.
• Clear communication skills for presenting financial information to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• CPA or equivalent certification.
• Experience with lease accounting.
• NetSuite experience.
