GNC Engineer, Modeling & Simulation

Location: On-site in Huntington Beach, California, United States

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 base annually, plus equity. A senior-level range of $165,000–$220,000 is also listed.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain high-fidelity flight dynamics and vehicle simulation models.
• Implement equations of motion in C++ and Python for real-time and offline simulation environments.
• Build simulation infrastructure, test harnesses, logging frameworks, and automated validation tools for SITL and HITL testing.
• Collaborate with aerodynamics, controls, and hardware teams to integrate CFD- and wind-tunnel-derived models.
• Perform system identification and parameter estimation to create accurate plant models.
• Integrate simulation assets with CI/CD pipelines and document model assumptions, configurations, and validation results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying navigation or simulation systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python, with a strong understanding of software design for simulation environments.
• Experience with Git, Jira, CI/CD strategies, and automated testing.
• Experience modeling fixed-wing aircraft dynamics and control systems, with a strong understanding of atmospheric flight kinematics and aerodynamics.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; the position may involve access to EAR- and ITAR-controlled information and may require authorization without export-license sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with satellite constellation modeling or orbital mechanics.
• Experience with radar seeker modeling and sensor integration.
• Background in real-time systems or embedded simulation environments.
