Salary: $170K–$214.5K targeted base salary annually, excluding additional benefits

Company

hirify.global manufactures satellite buses at scale through software, vertical integration, and hardware designed for manufacturing, supporting earth observation, communications, and other space applications.

What you will do

  • Own closed-loop spacecraft simulation platforms from initial design through deployment, including 6DOF, SITL, and HITL environments.
  • Develop simulation capabilities for scheduling, data routing, diagnostics, configuration, and Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Build and maintain simulation models, emulators, and hardware/software interfaces for sensors, actuators, test equipment, and units under test.
  • Define test requirements and procedures with multidisciplinary engineering and technician teams, then execute simulation tests.
  • Analyze test data, identify trends, improve models, and generate test reports through automated tooling.
  • Debug complex closed-loop interactions and contribute to the long-term architecture and roadmap of simulation platforms.

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience developing closed-loop simulation tools such as 6DOF, SITL, PITL, or HITL.
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++, Rust, or Python and experience working in Linux environments.
  • Experience with physics-based simulation models, virtual sensors and actuators, serial and network interfaces, conventional I/O, data analysis, automation, and pipeline development.
  • Knowledge of software development practices including testing frameworks, Docker, CI/CD, and agile development.

Nice to have

  • Experience in the aerospace or satellite industry.
  • Knowledge of satellite sensors, actuators, controls, communications, and power subsystems.
  • Experience with real-time or HPC systems requiring precise timing, deterministic execution, and high performance.
  • Experience with complex build systems, virtual test environments, embedded Linux, or real-time operating systems.

Culture & Benefits

  • Fast-growing startup with more than $500M in funding and equity participation.
  • 100% company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents, plus $100K life insurance.
  • Paid time off starting at 15 vacation days, increasing to 20+ days annually, plus 10 paid holidays.
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching and eight weeks of paid parental leave.
  • Daily catered lunch, unlimited snacks, childcare reimbursement for work-related travel, and an in-person Playa Vista office.
