Textile Sourcing Manager (AI)

Location: Onsite 5 days per week at an office in Denver or New York City, United States, with periodic international travel to supplier locations. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year, dependent on experience and location.

What you will do

• Identify, evaluate, and select domestic and global suppliers for bedding, rugs, upholstery fabrics, and digitally printed textiles.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, contracts, and supplier relationships; manage RFPs, market research, and vendor profiling.
• Partner with design, product development, merchandising, quality assurance, planning, logistics, inventory, and finance teams to approve fabrics and integrate sourcing strategies.
• Analyze material costs and fiber composition, benchmark raw-material prices, forecast demand, develop annual budgets, and identify savings opportunities.
• Coordinate inventory levels, production schedules, transportation, and timely material delivery.
• Monitor supplier compliance with environmental, social, and quality standards and promote lower-waste, lower-water, and lower-energy materials and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Supply-Chain Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in fabric sourcing or procurement, including negotiating and managing supplier relationships.
• Deep knowledge of fabric types, fiber composition, and production processes, including how raw materials affect quality, performance, and cost.
• Experience conducting market research, analyzing data, and drawing insights for sourcing decisions.
• Strong negotiation, contract-management, and cost-analysis skills.
• Familiarity with digital textile printing, including inkjet printing on fabric and its environmental advantages such as reduced waste and water usage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or other analytical tools.
• Experience using AI-based tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or other generative AI for supplier research, market analysis, and process optimization, or willingness to learn and adopt AI technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build partnerships across cultures and functions.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to visit suppliers and attend trade shows.

Nice to have

• Experience sourcing bedding, rugs, upholstery fabrics, or digitally printed textiles.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
