RF Engineer

Location: Onsite in San Diego, California, United States. Applicants must be a U.S. Person eligible to obtain required export authorizations under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Salary: $125,000–$195,000 USD per year, base salary only.

What you will do

• Derive and document RF subsystem requirements from system-level requirements.
• Develop RF schematics and design or guide PCB layouts, preferably using Altium.
• Validate, troubleshoot, and test complex RF circuit boards and assemblies from UHF to Ka-band.
• Develop RF test procedures and support system integration, manufacturing, and production troubleshooting.
• Support design reviews, customer meetings, proposals, and technical trade studies.
• Manage multiple projects while meeting accelerated development schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a master’s degree with an RF emphasis.
• At least 6 years of experience in RF hardware and schematic design from UHF to Ka-band.
• Experience designing LNAs and power amplifiers up to 10W at Ka/Ku-band.
• Experience with RF analysis and simulation, PCB layout, RF test equipment, and laboratory practices.
• Ability to multitask across multiple projects and support production activities.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under applicable U.S. export-control regulations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of space-environment design considerations, including EMI/EMC, radiation, temperature, shock, and vibration.
• Knowledge of Python, C/C++, MATLAB, scripting, or test automation.
• Experience with EDA tools such as Altium, AWR/MWO, Genesys, or ADS.
