Business Systems Architect

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work model

Salary: CAD 106,000–120,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and develop software solutions for data transformations, primarily supporting iFast client migrations.
• Collaborate with clients and Project Managers to improve client satisfaction and onboarding processes.
• Prepare high-level statements of work estimates and contribute to early-stage project analysis.
• Identify functionality gaps and define solution design, architecture direction, and implementation approaches.
• Provide application architecture expertise and technical guidance aligned with business strategies.
• Lead Agile activities, including sprint planning and daily scrums, and review system and application documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in application architecture and 5+ years in software design and development.
• Strong knowledge of structured and object-oriented programming, relational databases, and SQL.
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, effort estimation, and solution planning.
• Experience gathering and negotiating client requirements, with strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English and legal eligibility to work in Canada are required; a valid work or study permit may be required.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or mutual fund applications.
• Agile experience and familiarity with the iFast application.
• Exposure to OpenEdge ABL, C#, or JEE.
