Location: Auckland, New Zealand; New Zealand office-based role

What you will do
- Create and rapidly iterate conceptual CAD designs for structures and mechanisms across the Neutron launch vehicle.
- Develop detailed designs, drawing packages, technical reports, FMEA, P&IDs, and ICDs for metallic and composite components and assemblies.
- Work with analysis and manufacturing engineers to ensure designs meet functional, performance, and manufacturability requirements.
- Define requirements, develop test plans, monitor test activities, and document test results for structures and mechanisms.
- Design test jigs and fixtures, post-process test data, and support development and qualification testing.
- Identify and solve technical challenges while maintaining safe, timely project delivery.
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in aerospace, mechanical, or mechatronic engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience designing high-performance mechanical systems.
- Experience with CAD software such as NX, Fibersim, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- For New Zealand office roles, eligibility to access equipment and data regulated under U.S. ITAR is required; nationality checks will be conducted before an employment offer.

- Experience with metallic or composite structures.
- Experience with mechanisms, pressurised systems, or fluid systems.
