Laser Semiconductor Engineer (Semiconductor Lasers)

What you will do

• Develop new EML designs using semiconductor material physics, optical science, and high-speed design technologies.
• Support stable volume production and improve productivity from the early development stage.
• Develop chip assembly technologies supported by high-frequency simulation.
• Evaluate chips using new assembly techniques, analyze experimental data, and prepare technical reports.
• Present and discuss technical results in meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in electronics, electrical engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, 4 years with a master’s degree, or no relevant experience with a PhD.
• Knowledge of compound semiconductors, including the InP material system and material physics.
• Knowledge of high-frequency simulation and semiconductor device reliability.
• Experience analyzing large volumes of experimental data using JMP or similar statistical analysis tools.
• Fluent Japanese and intermediate English are required.

Nice to have

• Experience designing and developing semiconductor lasers.
• Experience improving semiconductor laser diode yield and reducing production costs.
• Programming experience with Excel VBA/macros and Python.
• Basic proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
