Senior AI Data Center Electrical Engineer

What you will do

• Design and optimize medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems for hyperscale and modular HPC/AI data centers, including switchgear, busways, transformers, breakers, PDUs, RPPs, grounding, and protection systems.
• Lead power architecture for NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell and VR200 Vera Rubin SuperPod and reference deployments, including high-density rack power, liquid cooling integration, power smoothing, and synchronous load management.
• Develop BESS, UPS, generator, and backup-power solutions supporting 99.999% uptime and grid stability.
• Architect modular 1–2 MW data center units that scale into 50–300 MW HPC/AI sites.
• Perform short-circuit, arc-flash, coordination, load-flow, harmonic, and grounding studies while ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, Uptime Institute, and TIA-942 standards.
• Support MEP integration, construction, commissioning, operations, troubleshooting, capacity planning, efficiency optimization, customer technical explanations, and engineering standards development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field; PE license preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, including at least 5 years in large-scale data centers.
• Proven experience designing and deploying 100–300 MW HPC/AI data centers and modular 1–2 MW units aggregated into 50–300 MW sites.
• Deep expertise in NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GB300 and Vera Rubin VR200 architectures, high-density power delivery, MV/LV switchgear, busways, BESS, UPS, generators, and harmonic mitigation.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, or similar power system analysis tools and with commissioning processes.
• Ability to work in the United States with existing work authorization; hirify.global does not provide US work authorization.

Nice to have

• Experience with liquid-cooled 100+ kW racks, NVIDIA NVL72, and SuperPOD systems.
• Familiarity with Grid-to-Rack distribution, 13.8 kV/34.5 kV systems, 480V AC and 800V DC distribution, BESS integration, and renewable or grid-tied systems.
• Background with hyperscale operators, colocation providers, or AI infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA safety protocols.
