Integration Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design and build the integration layer connecting hirify.global’s AI agent to email, calendars, productivity tools, communication platforms, developer tools, and other third-party services.
• Own authentication flows, API clients, schema normalization, action execution, error handling, and the full lifecycle of integrations.
• Define tool and action protocols that enable safe, consistent interaction with external systems and support adding new integrations efficiently.
• Integrate connectors into the agent runtime with fast, observable, and appropriately sandboxed execution.
• Collaborate with platform engineers and model researchers on tool schemas, action semantics, reliability, and model behavior.
• Prioritize high-impact integrations, track failures and regressions, and drive the roadmap for expanding the agent’s capabilities.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, including API design, OAuth flows, webhooks, rate limits, and reliable systems design.
• Experience building and operating integrations with real external services at scale, including handling token expiry, schema drift, inconsistent errors, and unreliable uptime.
• Ability to design maintainable integration frameworks that scale across dozens of services.
• Understanding of AI agents, LLM tool use, and how action schemas influence model behavior.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, iterate quickly, communicate clearly, and collaborate across platform, research, and product.
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with OAuth flows, webhook infrastructure, API gateway layers, REST, GraphQL, gRPC, or MCP.
• Experience designing tool-use schemas or function-calling interfaces for LLMs.
• Background in developer platforms, integration marketplaces, iPaaS systems, execution sandboxing, or permission-scoped action frameworks.
• Experience at a fast-moving AI company or a company where integrations were core to the product.
