Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: London, UK; hybrid with in-person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Salary: £90,000–£135,000 for L3 or £120,000–£160,000 for L4, plus equity.

What you will do

• Build tooling and infrastructure that enables engineers to delegate investigation, implementation, testing, and code review tasks to AI agents.
• Develop reproducible development environments, previews, automated validation, and systems for running applications and verifying changes.
• Create evaluations for agent behaviour and measure correctness, review effort, reliability, and cost.
• Identify engineering bottlenecks and deliver improvements to development, testing, and software delivery productivity.
• Assess tools, make build-versus-buy decisions, and lead the selection and rollout of an agentic development platform.
• Own technical design, implementation, deployment, observability, access controls, recovery, and ongoing operation.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including designing, shipping, testing, and operating production software.
• Practical experience with AWS serverless infrastructure, deployment pipelines, or development environments.
• Hands-on experience using coding agents for software development and understanding their capabilities and failure modes.
• Product engineering experience with user-facing features and the ability to translate developer needs into effective internal tools.
• Ability to scope ambiguous technical problems, make trade-offs, and deliver projects independently.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration across engineering teams.
