Autonomy Lead (Robotics)

Salary: $190,000–$266,000 USD per year base salary, plus equity grants.

What you will do

• Lead autonomy software development for a new unmanned-systems product and own architecture decisions end to end.
• Define hardware requirements and collaborate closely with hardware teams on integrated software and system design.
• Develop terminal guidance, position hold, visual navigation, and swarming capabilities.
• Hire, manage, and grow a small team of autonomy engineers while setting technical standards.
• Write and review production-quality embedded autonomy code in C, C++, and/or Python.
• Make performance, compute, and power tradeoffs under hardware constraints.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading technical work in hardware-constrained autonomy, preferably with small drones, ground robots, or similar systems.
• Hands-on expertise in one or more areas: computer vision, state estimation, controls, or robotics.
• Experience managing engineers and delivering projects end to end.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and/or Python in embedded or resource-constrained environments.
• Experience hiring for autonomy or AI roles.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with quadcopters or other aerospace systems.
• Familiarity with Betaflight, ExpressLRS, or ArduPilot.
