Principal Engineer - Design

Annual base salary: $86,000–$186,000

What you will do

• Port SoC RTL to hardware emulators and FPGA platforms.
• Develop emulation-specific hardware for pre-silicon subsystem and system-level co-verification.
• Build shared test ecosystems and develop firmware and tests for pre- and post-silicon validation.
• Troubleshoot complex embedded multi-core real-time systems running emulation test plans.
• Use protocol analyzers for analysis and error injection.
• Track verification progress and product quality, and present technical information to engineering teams.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree or higher in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years with serial protocols such as SAS, SATA, or NVMe and thorough PCIe knowledge.
• Experience with Linux, C, Python, Tcl, Bash, digital design, and RTL coding using VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
• Knowledge of server and storage systems, Windows/Linux host driver architectures, and system validation testing.
• Knowledge of MIPS, ARM, or RISC-V architectures, including JTAG, I2C, and firmware programming.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, and self-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with RAID HBAs, SAS controllers, test automation, testing methodologies, and test tools.
• Embedded Linux and RTOS development experience, including processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization, and memory management.
• Cadence infrastructure support and process-flow experience.
