Project Director (Industrial Automation)

Location: USA remote, field-based; travel required up to 50% of the time

Salary: $186,000–$255,200 base annually, plus benefits

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop project managers delivering complex automation programs with portfolios exceeding $250 million.
• Build and scale the project management organization through hiring, onboarding, and development.
• Oversee scope, schedules, budgets, risks, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction across concurrent projects.
• Act as the primary escalation point for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive standardization, continuous improvement, and compliance with project delivery standards across the program and region.
• Provide progress, risk, and performance updates to hirify.global leadership and customer executives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, supply chain, business administration, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of project or program management experience in large-scale, cross-functional environments integrating hardware, software, and controls.
• At least 5 years of direct people leadership experience, including building and scaling project management teams.
• Experience owning programs exceeding $200 million and delivering large capital projects in customer-facing, general contractor, or design-build environments.
• Experience in material handling, industrial automation, robotics, AS/RS, goods-to-person, micro-fulfillment, e-commerce fulfillment, or cold storage.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel by car or air to client and customer locations; ability to work in temperatures from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit and navigate steep stairs at automation sites.

Nice to have

• MBA or relevant master’s degree.
• PMP certification.
• Lean or continuous improvement experience.
• Familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira, and Teamcenter.
