Director, PMO (Telecommunications)

Location: Remote; candidates must live in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, or Virginia. Occasional business travel may be required.

What you will do

• Lead the Corporate Project Management Office and establish its operating model, governance, standards, methodologies, tools, and performance expectations.
• Manage, coach, and develop Project Managers, including workload allocation, performance management, professional development, and succession planning.
• Prioritize and sequence the enterprise project portfolio with executive and functional leaders based on strategic value, risk, capacity, and business readiness.
• Oversee telecommunications initiatives including network deployments, infrastructure upgrades, software and system implementations, migrations, and new product or service launches.
• Manage portfolio budgets, forecasts, resource capacity, KPIs, dashboards, risks, dependencies, stage-gate reviews, and executive reporting.
• Drive recovery planning, post-implementation reviews, post-mortems, lessons learned, continuous improvement, automation, and AI-enabled PMO practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive project or program management experience, including 5+ years managing Project Managers or leading PMO operations.
• 7+ years of telecommunications project management experience.
• Experience with complex network migrations, consolidations, technology implementations, large-scale customer conversions, or software platform development and migrations.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, project management tools, digital workflows, reporting, resource tracking, and project performance analysis.
• Must be based in one of the eligible hirify.global operating states.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Merger and acquisition experience.
• PMP or change management certification.
