Director of Engineering (Core Platform)

Location: New York, NY, United States; onsite

Total compensation: $435,000–$535,000 per year, including base salary, annual bonus incentive, and new-hire equity.

What you will do

• Define and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for member-facing membership, identity proofing, and biometrics platforms.
• Lead and develop Engineering Managers and senior individual contributors across a high-performing organization.
• Partner with Product, Security, and Engineering leadership on priorities, architecture, and secure scalable delivery.
• Own CRM vendor strategy and integrations, focusing on cost efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
• Establish engineering standards and improve system design, reliability, observability, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience leading and scaling engineering organizations.
• Experience managing managers and teams of 20+ engineers.
• Experience driving large-scale platform initiatives, including system re-architecture, vendor migrations, or multi-tenant platform development.
• Strong technical judgment and organizational leadership.
• Experience building high-performance teams, driving accountability, and delivering measurable outcomes in complex environments.
