Program Manager (Financial Services)

Location: Hybrid role based in Sydney or Melbourne, Australia

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end management and governance of the IFL Portfolio, aligning initiatives with business strategy and delivery priorities.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects and programs, including prioritization, sequencing, roadmap development, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Establish governance frameworks, reporting standards, decision-making forums, delivery controls, and executive reporting processes.
• Manage benefits realization, portfolio performance, cross-program dependencies, risks, issues, and competing priorities.
• Partner with senior business leaders, product owners, delivery teams, Technology, Operations, and Business stakeholders to support delivery outcomes.
• Lead continuous improvement, compliance activities, post-implementation reviews, and outcome assessments.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience delivering complex programs, portfolios, or large-scale strategic change initiatives in financial services, superannuation, wealth management, investments, or software delivery.
• Experience managing multiple related projects and programs within a portfolio environment.
• Strong knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery approaches, with experience establishing governance and decision-making frameworks.
• Experience managing senior executive stakeholders, cross-functional teams, business cases, budgets, forecasts, and benefits realization.
• Expertise in risk, dependency, issue, and change management, plus strong communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience with portfolio and project management tools including Jira and Confluence; relevant PgMP, MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, or SAFe qualifications are highly regarded.
