Systems Engineer - R&D (Linux/HPC)

Location: Austin, Chicago, London, New York, or Singapore

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 per year, plus discretionary performance-based bonuses and benefits

What you will do

• Plan and execute technical projects to improve the speed, adaptability, and maintainability of Linux trading systems.
• Manage and optimize large-scale distributed compute and HPC clusters.
• Automate, monitor, and troubleshoot technical infrastructure across hardware, software, networks, and operating systems.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and test operating systems and hardware and software components.
• Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve the research environment.
• Perform performance testing and tuning and work with vendors to resolve infrastructure issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Expertise installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Linux systems and using Linux/UNIX command-line tools.
• Experience with configuration management tools.
• Experience with Python and Shell scripting.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Resourcefulness, urgency, and willingness to learn and collaborate with stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Debian or Ubuntu.
• GPU optimization experience.
