Sensor & C2 Integration Engineer (Defence Systems): Building the interoperability layer that ingests heterogeneous radar and sensor tracks and connects air-defense systems to partner Command & Control infrastructure with an accent on ASTERIX, CoT, SAPIENT, protocol parsing, and geospatial data normalization. Focus on designing resilient integration pipelines, implementing multi-sensor track correlation, and troubleshooting protocol, timing, and coordinate-frame issues during live partner demonstrations.

What you will do
- Design and maintain ingestion pipelines for CoT XML, ASTERIX radar feeds, and proprietary partner protocols.
- Build normalized internal track models covering coordinate frames, update rates, confidence metrics, and downstream consumption.
- Develop validated parsers, decoders, protocol adapters, and SAPIENT-compliant sensor and fusion nodes.
- Implement track correlation and basic fusion logic, including deduplication, sensor handoff continuity, timestamp alignment, and resilience to malformed or out-of-order messages.
- Lead technical integrations with partner C2 and radar vendors, including interface reviews, joint testing, troubleshooting, and live demonstrations.
- Maintain a scalable interoperability architecture, integration documentation, standards tracking, and portfolio status reporting.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in systems integration, defense/C2 systems, radar data processing, or tactical data link engineering.
- Production experience with at least one of ASTERIX, CoT, or SAPIENT; familiarity with the others is advantageous.
- Experience integrating radar systems or C2 platforms and producing ICDs or interface specifications for external partners.
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++ for protocol parsing and middleware development.
- Experience with binary and XML protocols, UDP/TCP, multicast, serial communications, geospatial transformations, and time synchronization.
- Precise implementation of formal ICDs and interface specifications in collaborative Git-based workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience in defense, dual-use, or government-related programs.
- Familiarity with STANAG 4586, Link 16, JREAP-C, or adjacent NATO tactical standards.
