Scientific Editor (Computer Science)

What you will do

• Manage manuscripts through the peer-review process for journals in computer science and related subject areas.
• Identify, invite, and secure appropriate peer reviewers and ensure timely delivery of high-quality reports.
• Assess new submissions for journal suitability and make editorial triage decisions when required.
• Monitor the peer-review pipeline and support editors with decisions and manuscript progress.
• Implement peer-review policies, uphold ethical and editorial standards, and protect journal reputation.
• Collaborate with editorial, production, and publishing teams on workflow improvements and strategic projects.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related subject area.
• Strong scientific comprehension, analytical and logical reasoning, and ability to make critical quality decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, scientific and academic writing skills.
• Experience working in a research or professional environment is preferred.
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal, stakeholder-management, resilience, and customer-service skills.
• Understanding of the scientific research community and its needs.

Nice to have

• Experience as a peer reviewer or author.
• Journal publication history.
• Understanding of publishing workflows and systems in open-access publishing.
