Manufacturing Engineer II (HTS Magnets)

hirify.global is developing stellarator-based fusion energy systems using computer-controlled arrays of planar coils and high-temperature superconducting magnets.

What you will do

• Develop manufacturing processes, procedures, work instructions, and quality criteria for HTS magnets.
• Design, build, and commission magnet manufacturing tooling and equipment.
• Collaborate with magnet engineers on design for manufacture and lessons learned.
• Develop manufacturing bills of materials and virtual and physical inventory management processes.
• Define hardware specifications, coordinate vendor procurement, and support quality compliance.
• Coordinate manufacturing technician onboarding and track program milestones while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience and a related degree.
• Experience developing processes for complex electrical and mechanical hardware assemblies, including tooling, fixtures, machines, and automation.
• Experience with soldering, brazing, welding, and scaling production from first-of-a-kind builds to continuous production.
• Experience creating and interpreting manufacturing drawings, particularly GD&T, plus experience with PLM, MRP, and inventory management software.
• Ability to solve multidisciplinary engineering problems, work independently and collaboratively, and communicate clearly.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and work around industrial hazards including heat, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, cryogenics, and pressure systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with magnetic confinement fusion, aerospace, medical devices, or other advanced manufacturing processes.
