Senior Manager, Projects and Programs - Research (AI)

Location: On-site in South San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $148,000–$185,000 annual base pay, plus bonus and equity

hirify.global is a biotech startup using generative AI and foundation models for biology and disease to discover protein and antibody therapeutics, improve target elucidation, and support patient stratification.

What you will do

• Coordinate high-priority agentic AI research programs, including X-Cell, X-Design, and related initiatives.
• Build and maintain timelines covering milestones, dependencies, deliverables, resources, and critical-path activities.
• Partner with scientific, ML, engineering, and functional leads to align scope, priorities, progress, and next steps.
• Define and document decisive experiments, compile project data, and support decision-making through risk and trade-off analysis.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings, document decisions, track action items, and resolve workstream conflicts.
• Monitor project status, identify operational challenges, and develop contingency and scenario plans for delays, bottlenecks, or scope changes.

Requirements

• MS, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• At least 6 years of industry experience, including hands-on biologics research and project or timeline management responsibilities.
• Experience managing research or technical programs and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Working fluency in biologics research and ML research; hands-on experience is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, planning, organizational, communication, time management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with project tracking tools such as Excel, Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, or Google Suite, and with PMI or similar project and program management principles.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with wet-lab and computational research.
• Experience generating data for training large machine learning models in biology.
• PMP, CAPM, or PMI-ACP certification.
• Ability to lead and influence diverse teams across functions and seniority levels.
