Transport (RDMA) Silicon Product Architect (AI)

Location: Hybrid work model with on-site and off-site work at hirify.global sites in Santa Clara, California; Hillsboro, Oregon; or Austin, Texas, United States.

Annual salary: $220,920–$311,890 USD.

What you will do

• Lead the architecture of next-generation transport protocols and RDMA networking solutions.
• Design congestion management, flow control, reliability, and network-efficiency mechanisms for large-scale fabrics.
• Optimize AI communication patterns and collective operations for cluster performance and application efficiency.
• Architect high-performance communication systems spanning NICs, switches, host software, firmware, silicon, and system components.
• Translate workload and application requirements into deployable transport, networking, and communication architecture specifications.
• Collaborate across silicon, firmware, software, system architecture, and industry ecosystems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8+ years with a master’s degree, or 6+ years with a PhD in networking, distributed systems, datacenter infrastructure, or related fields.
• Deep expertise in transport protocol architecture, protocol semantics, reliability mechanisms, congestion management, flow control, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of RDMA technologies, large-scale deployment, scalability, fairness, resource management, and operational resiliency.
• Experience analyzing complex networking problems involving latency, throughput, tail performance, congestion, packet loss, and workload efficiency.
• Strong understanding of distributed computing and communication patterns in AI, HPC, cloud, or large-scale datacenter environments.
