Strategic Lab Operations Engineer

Location: Penang, Malaysia; onsite Shift 1 (Malaysia)

What you will do

• Monitor and assess operational workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Develop and implement optimization strategies, automation technologies, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and service providers to streamline operations.
• Conduct systems audits, analyze data, generate reports, and design KPIs for operational performance.
• Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and drive preventive actions.
• Manage project timelines and resource allocation, train staff on procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in operations engineering or a similar role.
• Experience in process optimization or lean manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of systems engineering, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with operations management software, data analysis, reporting, and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Project management certification such as PMP or Six Sigma.
• Experience in manufacturing, logistics, software, or a related industry.
• Experience with automation technologies.
