Senior Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Remote, with locations in São Paulo, Brazil and Mexico City, Mexico. Teams must stay synchronized for at least 3 hours per day across time zones.

Requirements

• 4+ years of engineering leadership and people management experience
• Experience as a senior individual contributor and a strong technical background
• Experience working in a startup and fintech environment
• Strong project management, planning, execution, and team-building skills
• Advanced English and Spanish
• Experience using AI-powered tools and frameworks for software development, testing, or automation

Nice to have

• Experience building large-scale platforms with global reach
• Experience balancing rapid go-to-market delivery in regulated environments
• Experience using AI to transform development workflows or build new projects
• Experience with payment processing technologies and vendors in the Mexican market

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a payments engineering team building a platform for the Mexican market
• Drive feature and product execution, planning, delivery, and performance management
• Support team wellbeing, productivity, hiring, and growth during rapid expansion
• Coordinate with engineering leads and Product Managers on objectives, priorities, trade-offs, and risks
• Participate in technical decisions, architecture discussions, and strategic planning
• Act as Tech Lead and contribute hands-on when required, using a stack centered on Python, Django, asyncio, AWS, Datadog, JavaScript, Vue, and Sass
