Contract Interior Designer (In-Person)

Location: Washington, D.C. and surrounding areas, United States; local in-home and virtual client meetings required

Compensation: Pay per project plus commission and bonus

What you will do

• Collaborate with residential Washington, D.C.-area clients through virtual and in-home meetings to understand their preferences, needs, and budgets.
• Lead the design process from mood boards and concepts to floor plans and 3D renderings.
• Source furniture and decor from vendor partners through the hirify.global platform.
• Build strong client relationships that generate repeat and referral business.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as an interior designer working with clients in person and/or virtually.
• Professional communication skills and the ability to engage clients with confidence and clarity.
• Comfort with online technologies for concept boards, 3D renderings, floor plans, presentations, and communications.
• Proficiency in Photoshop or Canva is required.
• Reliable transportation for client meetings, a computer with video conferencing capabilities, and an active Photoshop license or Canva account.
• Must be headquartered in the Washington, D.C. area and currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

Nice to have

• Degree in Interior Design from an accredited program or university.
• Product knowledge across multiple furnishing and decor vendors, categories, and price points.
• Small-business mindset and the ability to convert design concepts into sales.
