Internal Audit Professional (Fintech)

Location: Presidio office in San Francisco, with a 3–4-day/week in-person schedule

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 annual US base salary, plus equity

What you will do

• Design, lead, and execute end-to-end audits across banking, technology, compliance, fintech partnerships, lending, payments, cards, and API infrastructure.
• Own and evolve a risk-based audit plan for a software company operating a regulated bank.
• Partner with Engineering and Information Security to audit SDLC, data protection, IAM, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, AWS, and AI use in development.
• Assess third-party risk management and fintech partner oversight against regulatory expectations.
• Use data analytics and AI to identify emerging risks, automate testing, and improve audit efficiency.
• Prepare Audit Committee materials, metrics, quality assurance work, and follow-up reporting while managing third-party audit staff.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of audit, risk, or compliance experience in banking, fintech, consulting, or technology.
• Deep technology audit experience covering IT risk, cybersecurity, and modern software development.
• Hands-on experience auditing cloud-native environments, including AWS IAM, CI/CD, Terraform, and secrets management.
• Ability to query and interpret data from CloudTrail, Datadog, and Okta through APIs or queries.
• Working knowledge of BSA/AML, sanctions, KYC, CDD, SAR, OFAC, and OCC and FRB banking regulations.
• Ability to build trust with engineers, senior leadership, and regulators.

Nice to have

• CISA, CISSP, CIA, CISM, or CRISC certification.
