Head of Quality, Accessories and SUV (Automotive)

Salary: $185,293.24–$308,822.06 USD annually, plus potential equity and discretionary annual incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Lead and develop Project Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers across Accessories and SUV programs.
• Own program quality planning from DFMEA and DVP&R through PPAP readiness, launch, and series production.
• Drive APQP execution, supplier audits, PPAP readiness, risk profiling, and corrective action across the supply base.
• Partner with Engineering on DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, KPC/CTQ definition, validation, and issue resolution.
• Establish quality standards, APQP gates, supplier onboarding processes, work instructions, and scalable quality infrastructure aligned with IATF 16949.
• Report quality risks, PPAP blockers, audit findings, DVP progress, and supplier KPIs to senior leadership and support Board and investor briefings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of automotive quality engineering experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role spanning Program Quality or Supplier Quality.
• Deep expertise in APQP, PPAP, IATF 16949, AIAG-VDA 2019 FMEA, DVP&R, control plans, MSA, and SPC.
• Experience leading program/product quality and supplier quality functions simultaneously.
• Hands-on experience with accessory commodities, exterior/interior systems, and/or EV-specific integration challenges.
• Experience managing distressed suppliers, deploying eQMS platforms, and presenting complex quality and supplier-risk data to executive audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with an EV startup or greenfield manufacturing launch.
• Experience with automotive audio, lighting, trim, roof, closure, or smart technology systems.
• Familiarity with VDA 6.3, AIAG supplemental PPAP requirements, and FMVSS requirements.
• Experience with IntellaQuest, Polarion, Windchill, or comparable quality and requirements-management platforms.
• CQE, CQM, Six Sigma Black Belt, or IATF lead auditor certification.
