Senior Frontend Engineer (React)

Location: Remote anywhere in Canada or hybrid from the Vancouver office, with two office days per week

What you will do

• Partner with Product and Design to define, build, and evolve user experiences using modern frontend technologies.
• Own frontend architecture focused on scalability, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Design and implement complex frontend systems with React, TypeScript, and Next.js, including SSR, routing, data fetching, and performance optimization.
• Establish engineering standards for patterns, tooling, testing, and CI/CD.
• Lead cross-team technical initiatives aligned with backend APIs, platform capabilities, and product strategy.
• Mentor frontend engineers and define metrics for performance, reliability, and user behavior.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
• Expert proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Strong experience with frontend architecture, state management, component design, design systems, modular architectures, and performance optimization.
• Experience building and operating production web applications with server-side and client-side rendering.
• Deep knowledge of testing, code reviews, observability, and operational excellence across the software development lifecycle.
• 4+ years of industry experience and experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Nice to have

• Experience building early-stage 0-to-1 products engineered for scale or working in Research and Development.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor, or LLMs.
