Principal Software Engineer, Frontend Web UI Platform

What you will do

• Own the technical direction of the web UI platform across performance, accessibility, consistency, and availability.
• Lead cross-team frontend initiatives and migrations while sequencing changes around active product development.
• Establish frontend patterns, standards, and paved paths that scale across many engineering teams.
• Write architecture and design proposals, evaluate tradeoffs, and align engineering, product, and design stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and pairing.
• Represent frontend platform priorities to leadership and secure the support needed for delivery.

Requirements

• At least 11 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience with degree-based alternatives accepted.
• Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software.
• Experience coding in one or more languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• Deep knowledge of React or Angular internals and server-side rendering.
• Strong understanding of web performance, browser APIs, accessibility standards, TypeScript, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Experience leading frontend migrations and building shared systems adopted across multiple teams.

Nice to have

• Experience improving Core Web Vitals, interaction latency, or bundle size through data-driven work.
• Experience building design systems, shared component libraries, or frontend platform tooling.
