Heating Systems Lead (Fusion Energy)

Salary: $150,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead and mentor engineers, scientists, and technicians designing, constructing, testing, and operating plasma heating systems.
• Oversee multiple plasma heating projects, ensuring technical quality and timely delivery.
• Provide technical guidance on system architecture, diagnostics, fusion absorption, and operations.
• Define the heating-system roadmap for the Eos device and future fusion power plants.
• Own conceptual, preliminary, and final engineering designs and integrate systems within planar-coil stellarator constraints.
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, specialized hardware procurement, and diagnostics partnerships.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in RF, microwave, or related high-power technologies.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects.
• Deep technical expertise in magnetic confinement fusion heating.
• Ability to work on-site in Kearny, New Jersey.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving, high-autonomy startup environment.
