Head of Financial Operations/ Controller (Fintech)

Location: Mexico City, Mexico or São Paulo, Brazil. Hybrid work is expected, with flexibility to work remotely for the right candidate and regular office presence during ramp-up or when required by the leader.

What you will do

• Own the month-end financial close and consolidation across all entities and currencies.
• Lead annual financial audits from planning through signed opinion, including technical accounting questions and auditor relationships.
• Support treasury, regulatory, tax, lender, investor, and due diligence requirements.
• Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, close checklists, and account reconciliations.
• Own NetSuite as the finance system of record and implement AI tools and automation across finance workflows.
• Build a unified controllership operating model across local country controller teams.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of accounting or controllership experience, including multi-entity and multi-currency consolidation.
• Proven experience leading annual audits with a Big Four firm from planning through final opinion, including technical accounting memos.
• Deep, hands-on NetSuite expertise.
• Demonstrated success deploying AI tools and automation in financial workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business.
• English plus Spanish and/or Portuguese proficiency is required.

• Startup or fintech experience in Latin America.
